Prosperity had never smiled more
br0adly on New Orleans than when
Tujague's first opened its doors. For
European immigrants in search of success in
the New World, opportunity was everywhere
for the taking.
Market, they established Tujague's Restaurant
in 1856.
Tujague's built a reputation on two specialty
dishes - a piquant remoulade sauce flavoring
spicy cold shrimp, and succulent chunks of
beef brisket boiled with aromatic vegetables
and served with a creole sauce.
In 1982, New Orleans businessman Steven
Latter acquired
Tujague's. Although
the restaurant has
thrived under several
proprietors, one thing
remains unchanged--Tujague's
is committed
to keeping Creole tra-dition
alive in New
Orleans.

Tujague's six course, table d'hote menu r~volves
· around such Creole staples for whichthe restaurant
is known. All meals are served in the traditional
Creole manner, from appetizer through dessert, with
a choice of entrees. For Creole chefs, only the day's
freshest produce is put on the table and ~eals are
always served with hot French bread.
