Pellny Post alld the Corporate Cup
On Sunday, December 14, the annual Corporate Cup Run will test the endurance of the New
Orleans business-types with a 5K race. The Penny Post will be well represented.
Two members (that we know of at press time) will be participants: Arlene Mavor and Pat
Thomas.
The Post will also have a refeshment booth at the Superdome and one of our own musicians,
Rusty Ferro, will be performing with his band, The Bent Fender Road Band.
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to meet a lot of potential members and patrons at one 0 :
New Orleans most media-covered events. Show your support for our runners along the race
course. And lend a hand in preparing refreshments or working the booth.

Ed Sherry will sing in the Tul.lne University Production of
TRIAL DY JURY in November.
True Brew Coffee near Whole Food on Esplanade features 3 Post musicians:
Jim Pilgrim on Thursdays (8-10) and Saturdays (8-11)
Rieky Vaughan on Fridays (8-11)
Patrie Swafford on Sundays (8-10) ,
Rusty Ferro's Bent Fender Road Band appears regularly at
Carrollton Station. Check the paper or the Post for dates/times.
Post Performers at Reading Conference
The Penny Post will provide strolling performers at the 5th annual Children's Reading
Conference on Saturday, November 15, 1986 at Rudolph Matas Elementary School, 1001 Elise
Avenue in Metairie from noon til2pm. Stop by and support your musicians and the Children's
Reading Conference. ___________ _
Music Schedule Change
In order to encourage musicians to sign up more often the Penny Post music schedule rules
have been revised. You can now sign up to perform once a week (not including weekends) when
the schedule is released on the first of the month.
The music schedule has not been filled using the current schedule rules so the board decided to
make some changes. There are a lot of open dates at all time slots on the Novelnber schedule. Get
to the Post and sign up for a couple of sets soon. '
