A $25,000 grant has been awarded Louisiana State university's medical school for expansion and continuation of its cancer program.
Dr. William W. Frye, dean of the school, said it is the third time such a grant has been awarded to the New Orleans school by the National Cancer Institute.
''These funds are a grant to improve and expand facilities for teaching cancer and basic principle of cancer to our students," Dr Frye said.
He added it will enable the school to bring noted cancer authorities to New Orleans to lecture and to further integrate the subject into the entire curriculum,
LSU is one of 33 schools throughout the nation to get such grants this year.
