rof. Rene Leriche of France was chosen to preside at the 14th Congress of the International Society of Surgery, to be held next year in Paris.
Named vice presidents for the Congress were Dr. August Bran-dao-Filio of Brazil; Dr. Dallas B. Phemister, Chicago; Dr. Robert Banis, Belgium, and Dr. Clarence Crafoord, Sweden.
New officers of the society were also elected. They are Dr. J. Ver-hoogen, president; Dr. Leo Dejar-din, secretary, and Dr. Paul Lor-thoir, treasurer. All are from Brussels, Belgium, traditional seat of the society.
RE-ADMIT JAPAN
The delegates voted to re-admit Japan and Germany to their membership at the next Congress. New members include Chile, Salvador, Siam and Costa Rica.
