New Orleans' Dr. Alton Ochsner yesterday lauded the work of delegates to the American Cancer Society state workshop.
The famous surgeon and clinic head, who is also a regional director of the ACS, addressed the assembled district commanders and delegates at The Roosevelt Hotel at lunch, the final meeting of the two-day workshop.
Monday cancer workers heard Dr. Vernon W. Lippard, dean of LSU's school of medicine, talk during a dinner at Arnaud's Restaurant.
Dr. Lippard reminded the volunteer workers that very little is really known about cancer and that extensive research is necessary.
