De Paul Sanitarium in New Orleans has been approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for a two-year residency training program in psychiatry.
Sister Anne, director of De Paul, disclosed today that facilities at De Paul are considered adequate for the training of three resident physicians.
The De Paul residency training program consists of study and treatment of in-patient psychiatric disorders, out-patient work through the offices of Dr. Henry Colomb, chief of training, and associates and teaching rounds ai LSU medical school.
Until this approval of the two-year residency De Paul was approved for a one-year residency in psychiatry only.
De Paul thus becomes the onfy hospital in this area with an approved residence on psychiatry others being in Texas and Virginia.
