A one-day course in pediatric urology is scheduled for Friday at the Confederate Memorial Center in Shreveport as a joint effort by the Louisiana State University School of Medicine's Department of Postgraduate Medicine and the Confederate Memorial Medical Center. The meeting, winch is the first of six to be held in coming months, is expected to be attended by several hundred physicians from throughout the Shreveport area, including parts of Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Principal visiting participants in the program will be two Texas physicians, Dr. Thomas H. Guthrie Jr., associate professor of clinical urology at the Baylor University School of Medicine in Houston, and Dr. Paul C. Peters, assistant professor of urology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Other program participants will include selected members of the clinical staff at the center who also hold clinical faculty rank on the LSU medical faculty. Dr. Norman S. Gilbert, associate professor of medicine and dean of the LSU School of Medicine, will be the LSU coordinator for the program.
