Dr. Rufus Wade Fox,Jr., associate professor of anatomy at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, died at 11 a. m. Wednesday at Touro Infirmary after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 3 p. m. Sunday at the First Unitarian Church, 1800 Jefferson Ave., following cremation. Plans for cremation were incomplete Wednesday night. A native of Hilton Village, Va., Dr. Fox, 44, was a member of the LSU faculty for 11 years and was considered an authority in the field of vertebrate zoology. He was author or coauthor of some 50 articles on the subject. Dr. Fox received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of North Carolina and his master of arts and doctor of philosophy degrees from the University of California.
