Dr. T. N. Armistead of Elm Grove has taken office, succeeding Dr. James R. Strain as president of the Louisiana State Board of Health.

Dr. Armistead, a graduate of Loursiam .JitateUniversity School of Medicine, has engaged in private practice in Waskom, Tex., and Plain Dealing and has served as area medical director for Claiborne, De Soto and Red River Parish Health Units and as director of the Webster Parish Health Unit.
He received a master of public health degree from Tulane University School of Public Health in 1960 and holds the rank of senior surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service Reserve. He is a member of the Louisiana Public Health Association and vice-chairman of the Public Health Physicians Section, LPHA.
Dr. Armistead said that Walter J. Laborde of Marksville is the new administrator of the sight conservation program of the board. Laborde was graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana a n d holds an M.A. in public health from Tulane.
