Outstanding students at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine were cited here Thursday afternoon at the school's annual Honor's Day Convocation.
Dr. Grover E. Murray of Baton Rouge, LSU vice-president and dean of academic affairs, delivered the honors day address, entitled "Creativity."
He charged the students attending, 110 of whom will receive their doctor of medicine degrees at graduation ceremonies set for 3 p. m. Friday at the Municipal Auditorium, to pursue creativity as a continuing lifetime goal.
"However," he stressed, "it is the creative person who most often encounters conflict" from an environment which is generally unable, or unwilling
to keep pace with a creative person's zest.
SIMMONS PRESIDES
Dr. Robert L. Simmons, associate dean of the school of medicine and director of student affairs, presided at the ceremony.'
