The Louisiana Division Inc. of the American Cancer Society announced Wednesday that 16 Louisiana college and university students have received 1964 Summer Student Fellowships of the society.
Aim of the fellowships is to interest a greater number of potential doctors and young scientists in cancer research, W. Thomas Zander, public information director, said.
The following students from Louisiana institutions of higher learning will receive at least $400 for basic experimental work in cancer research:

Byrd, Louisiana Polytechnic Institute; Fortune A. Dugan, Rob* ert F. Martin, Douglas Bostick Jr. and Jessica Walker, all of Louisiana State University at New Orleans: Richard Rudman, Louisiana State University Medi-cal School; John Albers, Tu-lane; Paul R. Proteau and Wil-ma M. Alpha, University of Southwestern Louisiana; Bemll Combs and Gerald Cohen, Touro Infirmary, ana uorotny Pace, Xavier University.
