The Doctor's Day story is going fo be presented in two scenes this year by the woman's auxiliary to the Orleans Parish Medical Society.
Scene I. will take place in Mayor Victor Schiro's office on March 25 at 9:30 a. m. The auxiliary has chosen two doctors to be saluted this year who have the longest years of membership in the Society, says Mrs. Ralph J, McDonough, Doctor's Day chairman. They are Dr. N. P. Thiberge, honorary mem-6er, and DrT C. L. Eshleman, active member.
The mayor is going to present them with certificates of merit and golden keys to the city, and the auxiliary president, Mrs. Monte Meyer, is going to pin jboutonnieres of red carnations (the doctor's flower) on them. Dr. John Kron, the Medical Society's president, will be on hand to offer felicitations.
The mayor is also going to present a proclamation to Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. McDonough declaring March 30 Doctor's Day in New Orleans.
The day dedicated to doctors was the date back in 1842 when the Georgia physician, Dr. Crawford W. Long, first used ether as a general anaesthetic in a surgical operation, thereby providing mankind with the blessedness of freedom from pain and suffering during surgery, the chairman points out.
In all the Southern states March 30 is set aside to remember the doctors, she adds. * ♦ *
All Orleans doctors who have been cited by the auxiliary on former Doctor Days will receive Doctor's Day messages from the auxiliary on March 30, Mrs. McDonough says.

The auxiliary's production, "How to Succeed As a DW (Doctor's Wife) Without Even Trying" was such a big hit last year, it's going to stage a repeat performance this year, the chairman says.
The scene will be presented to wives of fourth year medical students at Tulane and Louisiana State Universities, aTSTIhe last year residents1 and interns' wives in New Orleans hospitals.
Keynote speakers will be Mrs. Gerald E. Posner, a doctor's wife from Opelousas; Mrs. Glenn T. Scott, Ponchatoula, past president of the state medical auxiliary; Mrs. Charles Farris, immediate past president of the Orleans Medical auxiliary; and Mrs. Joseph J. Ciolino, member of the Doctor's

The program inspired Mrs. Ciolino to pen an ode to "The Wives of Young Doctors," which she will read. Copies of her poem will be given to the young wives as keepsakes.
Bringing greetings will be representatives of the two medical schools, Mrs. Meyers, Dr. Kron, and Mrs. Robert Rougelot, New Orleans, president-elect of the state Medical auxiliary.
Dr. Harold Cummings Jr., ad-j ministrator of the Tulane Medical School, and Dr. Robert j Simmons, assistant dean of the! tSU Medical School, are working hand in hand with the auxiliary on the program.
The auxiliary is remembering not only the doctors on Doctor's Day, but the hospitals, too, says Mrs. McDonough. Arrangements of red carnations will be placed on the information desks of the 14 hospitals in the New Orleans area on the morning of Doctor's Day with a message from the auxiliary.
