A $5,000 grant has been made by the Louisiana State University Foundation to the LSU School of Medicine to support cancer research programs, Dr. B. P. Bordelon of Marksville, foundation vice-president, has announced.
The foundation is a non-profit organization of business and professional alumni and non-alumni friends of LSU which seeks private financial support for worthwhile university projects.
The four research efforts which will receive support from the foundation grant include:
1. A study on diagnostic methods in cancer, by Dr. Nelson Holmquist, associate professor of pathology.
2. A study on diagnosis of cancer of the cervix, by JD£. Jose Torres, assistant professor <ft" bbstelrics and gynecology.
3. Research on the treatment of cancer of the cervix, by Dr. Abe Mickal, professor and Kea3 dr tne department of obstetrics and gynecology.
4. A study on treatment of brain cancer, by Dr. C. B. Wil-
instructor of neurosurgery
