Fall enrollment on the four campuses l>f the Louisiana State Univer-lity system has reached a new high of 18,723 students, it was announced Wednesday by LSU President John A. Hunter.
The grand total includes enrollment from the Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Alexandria campuses, and therLSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Total enrollment by campuses is as follows:
Baton Rouge — 13,158; New Orleans — 4,585, Alexandria — 451; School of Medicine --■597 (includes 90 students "enrolled in nursing).
All of the campuses reported enrollment increases. Baton Rouge campus enrollment rose by 825 from last fall's total; LSUNO increased by 1,105, and LSU at Alexandria enrolled about 50 over the 1962 total.
On the Baton Rouge campus undergraduate enrollment totaled 10,526, while the total graduate and professional school enrollment was 2,632. The Baton Rouge campus enrollment also includes 1,562 out-of-state students, and 484 students from 58 foreign countries.
A breakdown of enrollment by divisions on the Baton Rouge campus is as follows:
Junior division, 4,178; Agriculture, 686; Arts and Sciences, 1,712; Business Administration, 695; Chemistry and Physics, 222; Education, 1,193; Engineering, 988; Music, 69; Nursing, 6; University College, 777; Graduate School, 2,216; Law School, 299; Social Welfare, 117.
Enrollment at LSUNO is as follows: Junior Division, 2,219; Business Administration, 267; Liberal Arts, 395; Sciences, 333; Education, 340; Graduate Div-sion, 12; Evening Division, 926; Nursing, 78 (also included in School of Medicine figures); and Auditors, 15.
