Figures released Tuesday showed that 4530 students have enrolled for the Fall semester at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
Kenneth J. Byrne, acting registrar at LSUNO, said the figure was a 30.5 per cent increase over last year's enrollment of 3,480.
Some 2,209 students have registered in the university's junior division of which more than 1,700 are beginning freshmen.
The breakdown is this:
College of business administration, 264; college of liberal arts, 393; college of sciences, 315; school education, 340; evening division, 906; graduate division, 12; nursing, 76; and auditors, 15.
The 76 students listed under nursing are registered in the department of nursing at the LSU Medical School, but are pursuing academic programs at LSUNO.
