Two major additions to the Louisiana State University Medical School complex are well along on their way to completion.
Total cost is $6.3 million.
The first project is constructing of two five-story research wings on each side of the present medical school building, plus erection of a five-story research area and parking facility situated between the two existing wings. Set For Early ^64
Completion is set for early 1964 at a cost of $3.2 million.
The second project is a $3.1 million 11-story medical school dormitory-center at 1900 Perdi-do between Roman and Bolivar, less than three blocks from the school itself.
The dormitory is scheduled for occupancy at the beginning of the fall term.
"Both projects," says Dr. William W. Frye, LSU vice-president and dean of the medical school," will afford us much needed additional space.
