Faculties of the Tulane and Louisiana State University medical schools Tuesday joined KO polio leaders in asking the public to take "round two" of the Sabin oral polio vaccine Sunday.
Dr. Charles C. Sprague, dean of the Tulane school of medicine, said the faculty of the school emphasizes that every person in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parish should take the second "swallow" of the vaccine and the third feeding in June.
"In addition to being one of the safest vaccines made, the Sabin oral polio vaccine is also one of the most effective," he said.
"It has made the complete elimination of polio viruses from the community a realistic goal, needing only the coopera-tidn of every citizen. No one should miss the last two doses April 28 and June 2," Dr. Sprague concluded,

A shipment for the second feeding of the vaccine arrived
in New Orleans by air Tuesday and has been stored in frozen state for distribution Sunday at 179 immunization centers in the metropolitan area.
The neighborhood centers wil] be open from noon to 6 p. m.
Volunteer n u r s e chairman Mrs. Anna Amann has asked for 150 more nurse volunteers from the ranks of registered nurses.
The nurses will be needed to staff immunization centers. They need not volunteer for a full day's work—only a few hours—if that is their choice, she said.
Mrs. Amann asked that those wishing to volunteer call her at 529-4311, extension 674 between 9 a. m. and 5 p. m.
CAN EARN CREDIT
Dr. Edgar Hull, associate dean oi Lsirs school of medicine, also called on persons of all ages, from infants to the aged, to take round two of the vaccine.
Even those who missed the first dosage of the vaccine should take subsequent doses. These people can then take the first dose at a later date. Each dose protects against a different strain of polio.
