Dr. Berenson is one of two 3U professors scheduled to ad-ess the symposium.^
Henry C. McGill. head of the
department of pathology at the local medical school, will discuss "The Human Lesion, Fine Structure."
During his address, Dr. Berenson will tell the delegates that ''the integrity of cardio-i
vascular structures dependr upon the basic metabolism of its large molecular sugar and protein substances.''
The LSU scientist heads a team which is attempting to find an answer to the question of connective tissue by study-
ng heart diseases known to involve alterations in cardiac con-lective tissue.
Dr. Berenson said studies of inherited heart cases and chemical studies of blood vessels have been most useful in his team's efforts
