Dr Ellen P. MacKenzie was installed as president of the Jefferson Parish Medical Society Friday night at a banquet at the Metairie Country Club.
She succeeds Dr. John C. Rourke and is the first woman to hold the position in the history of the society.
Other new officers include Dr. Henry K. Threefoot, vice-president; Dr. Marvin M. Ettinger, secretary-treasurer; and Dr. John Tanner and Dr. John C. Rourke, delegates to the Louisiana State Medical Society.
Also installed at the meeting were incoming officers for the Second District Medical Society.
They were Dr. Alden H. Baehr, president; Dr. Sidney D. Bullard, vice-president; Dr. Farrell R. Nicholson, secretary-treasurer; and Dr. Joseph J. Massony and Dr. Lewis Post, delegates to the state society.Dr. Baehr succeeds Dr. Charles Moll.
