Twenty state agencies and organizations have joined together to form the Louisiana Council on Tuberculosis, which met for the first time at the Jung hotel.
Co-ordinated by the Louisiana Tuberculosis Association, the council has as its chairman, Dr. John Bobear, of the Louisiana State university medical school faculty.
- Purpose of the organization, which will convene again for a one-day session quarterly with October as the period for its next meeting, is to serve as a forum and council for the co-ordination of services and programs designed to bring about the eventual eradication of tuberculosis.
Organizations and their representatives forming the council include: Louisiana state board of health, Dr. Ben Freedman, Dr. Andrew Hedmeg, Dr. John Bruce, Lillian Jeffers, R. N., M. E. Kos-sack, MPH, and Anna Harrison, and Sarah Crane, social workers; Louisiana state department of public welfare, Dr. J. D.
