Top medical men from all sections of the nation will address the silver anniversary meeting of the New Orleans Graduate Medical Assembly, which opens at the Roosevelt hotel March 12.
Sessions will last through March 15. Approximately 2000 physicians from 35 states as well as Canada and Australia are scheduled to attend.
In addition to the general meetings, the daily schedule will include medical motion pictures, visits to over 100 technical exhibits and round-table luncheons for specialty groups. Entertainment will also be provided for the doctors' wives.
The opening session will get under way March 12 at 10:15 a: m. Dr. Barrett Kennedy, Assembly "president, will welcome the delegates. Other welcomes will be voiced by Mayor Victor H. Schiro, Dr. Cuthbert J. Brown, president of the Louisiana State Medical Society; Dr. John F. Oakley, president of the Orleans Parish Medical Society; Dr. William W. The technical portion of the opening session will get under way at 10:45 a, m. At that time "iMeasles Vaccine" will be discussed by ■ Dr. Lewis L Coriell, Camden; N. J., chief of staff of the Camden Municipal Hospital f<j>r Contagious Diseases.
The next speaker will be Dr. Julian M. Ruffin, Durham, N. C. professor of medicine, Duke university. He will have as his topic, "An Evaluation of Radioisotopes as Diagnostic Aids in Gastroen-terology."
Dr. Owen H. Wangensteen, Minneapolis, Minn., chairman of the department of surgery, University of Minnesota medical school, will be the last morning speaker. His topic is " Surgery of Gastric Cancer."
