William D. Postell, librarian of the Rudolph Matas Library, Tulane university school of medicine, will give the ninth annual B. Bernard Weinstein lecture of the/ Tulane History of Medicine Society at the group's banquet at 7:30 p. m. Friday at the Tulane University Center.
The topic of Postell's lecture will be "Sequel to Magnolia Vale."
The Rudolph Matas, I. I. Lemmon, and B. Bernard Weinstein awards of the society for outstanding historical papers by student members also will be presented.
New officers to be installed are Fernando de Castro, president; Jack Hoover, vice president; Jim Brame, secretary, and Foster Eich, treasurer.
Tom Birdwell, senior medical student and outgoing president of the society, will preside.
Postell, former librarian at the Louisiana State university school of medicine, has served as' president of the Medical Library Association, Louisiana Library Association, and the Library Section of the Louisiana Education Association.
