Dr. Clarence Crafoord, internationally-known Swedish surgeon was presented Thursday with the world's highest award in vascular surgery—-the Rudolph Matas Award in Vascular Surgery of Tulane university— in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of surgery of the heart and blood vessels.
The citation and medallion, symbolic of the award, were presented by Dr.Jsidore Cohn, colleague, friend and principal biographer of the late Dr. Matas, to Dr. Crafoord for his pioneering achievements in the surgery of heart and blood vessels.
