Clifford F. Favrot has been named chairman of the annual Cancer Education Campaign that will begin April 1.
His appointment was announced by William J. Guste Jr., president of the Greater New Orleans Cancer Association that will sponsor Cancer Control Month during April.
The educational program includes showing of films and distribution of literature emphasizing the danger signals of cancer and the necessity of early detection and treatment.
Favrot noted that because the association's fund-raising is handled by the United Fund, the agency can devote its full time toward educating the public.
Other association leaders who will participate in the program are Dr. Samuel Logan, chairman of public education; Dr^Billy G. Taylor, chairman of professional education, and Lawrence Carmo, chairman of publicity and public relations.
