Dr. Charles William Mayo Jr., professor of surgery at Mayo Foundation Graduate School of Medicine, Rochester, Minn., will be in New Orleans for two addresses on Thursday.
He will open the annual Leo Sv Weil Medical Lectureship series Thursday at 8 p. m. in the Touro infirmary school of nursing auditorium. His subject will be *'Medical Care in an Exploding Population."
Earlier in the day, the noted surgeon will address the students of the Tulane and
scKools, at 2 p. m., at the Hutch-inson auditorium of the Tulane medical school.
A limited number of seats will be available to the general public on a first come, first serve basis for the Weil address.
Dr. Mayo is the son of the co-founder of the Mayo Clinic at Rochester. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical school, he received an M.S. in surgery from the University of Minnesota in 1931.
He served on President Truman's committee to study medical services in 1946.
