Dr. Mathew Ross, medical director of the American Psychiatric Association, will be the principal lecturer at the "Clergy and Mental Health'' symposium which begins Tuesday at the Louisiana Association for Mental Health building, 1528 Jackson ave.
Clergymen from throughout Louisiana are expected to attend the two-day spmposium, which will be sponsored by the mental health' association.
Dr. Ross, whose topics at the symposium will be ' 'Recognizing Mental Health Problems" and ' 'Implications for the Pastor," is on the council on mental health of the American Medical Association and is editor-in-chief of Men-
tal hospitals, a journal published by the American Psychiatric Association.
A graduate of Tufts university school of medicine, Dr Ross holds membership in the National Press Club and has served as consultant to the office of the Surgeon General of the United States Army and to the Neurology and Psychiatry Service of the Veterans Administration.
Four local psychiatrists who will lecture at the symposium are Dr, Carl P. Adatto, Dr. Henry H. W, M5esTiPrTE%ard H^JCnight and Dr. Gene L. Usdin. Clergymer who will participate as discussior leaders are Dr. Julian B. Fiebel man, Dr. John M. Price the Rev H. J. F. Rest, the Rev. John S Jenkins, Dr. Frederick V. Poag the Rev. Edward A.
