The 1960 silver anniversary football team, composed of players who have achieved prominence in other fields 25 years after completing their college football careers, includes a Pulitzer Prize winner, the first winner of the Heisman Trophy, a college president and a vice-president and two prominent football coaches.
The silver anniversary teams are selected annually by Sports Illustrated magazine. The 1960 team is composed of players whose last college season was 1935.
Author John Hersey, a member of the 1934 and 1935 Yale varsity teams, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1945 for his book, "A Bell for Ad-ano."
