DR RUSSELL HOLMAN CENTER NEEDS FIXTURES
Dr Russell L. Holman Vocational Center for Retarded Girls will open at 1530~Eighth about Jan. 1 — if it can secure donations of equipment.
Named for the late Dr. Holman, outstanding leader in work for retarded children, the center will be a project of the Junior League. Miss Claire Robin, TWinbrook 5-2252, will direct it .
What's needed? Office and reception room furniture, files lockers, mimeograph, adding machine, typewriters, sewing machines, kitchen, laundry and cleaning appliances, cash register, grocery scale, mail scale, beauty parlor equipment. Why the latter? Retarded girls will be taught to give shampoos, to groom themselves; also to cook, sew.
