Naming of two research grants in memory of two Louisiana residents was announced Wednesday by the Louisiana Heart Association.
The projects will be named in memory of the late Calvin Schwing, of Plaquemine, and the late Charles E. Dunbar, of New Orleans.
The Calvin Schwing memorial awards were made possible by a gift of $5200 to the 1960 Heart Fund by Mrs. Calvin Schwing of Plaquemine. Mrs. |5chwing, who is a member of the Louisiana State university board of supervisors, specificied that the funds be used by the LSU School of Medicine. They will support projects carried on by Dr. Richard E. Fowler, head of the pediatrics department, and Dr. Francis A. Buyau, assistant professor of pediatrics.
