Members of three parish and city medical groups will hold an organizational meeting of the Louisiana Medical Assistants Asso-jciation March 19-20 in the Monte-leone hotel.
There are similar associations already existing in New Orleans, Ouachita parish, and East Baton Rouge parish. The new statewide organization will be a branch of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Miss Margaret Marks of New! Orleans, meeting chairman, explained that "medical assistant"! is a term applied to any person empolyed in a physician's office or clinic.
She said that Thomas A. Hen-dricks of Chicago, assistant to the executive vice-president of the American Medical Association, would be the guest speaker.
Other speakers will include Dr. W. Robyn Hardy, president of! the Louisiana State Medical Society; Dr. Philip H. Jones, medical adviser to the New Orleans Medical Assistants Association; Mrs. Julia Dudden, president of the local group; and Charles F. Parker, representing Professional Management Service, all of New Orleans; Mrs. Marian Little of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, president of the AAMA; and Miss Thelma Green of Nashville, Tenn., chairman of the extension committee of the AAMA.
