A medical seminar an mycro-bacterial and mycotic diseases among children will be sponsored Thursday and Friday at the LSU medical school by the Tuberculosis Association of Greater New Orleans,
The conference will stress illnesses in children, particularly fungus illnesses.
William Waller Young Jr., presi dent of TAGNO, will open the conference. Technical speakers slated Thursday are Dr. Douglas C. Heiner, assistant professor of pediatrics, - University of Arkansas medical center; Dr. John S. Chapman, professor of medicine at Southwestern medical college of the University of Texas; Dr. John H. Seabury, LSU professor of medicine; Dr, Julius L. Wilson, director of medical education of the American Trudeau Society and director of the Henry Phipps Institute, University of Pennsylvania.
And Dr. Felix A. Hughes, chief of thoracic surgery at the Memphis VA hospital; Dr. Ralph V, Platou, Tulane professor of pediatrics; Dr. J. D. Martin, medical director for the Louisiana department of public welfare; Dr. Margaret H. D. Smith, associate professor of pediatrics, New York; university; and Dr, Keith Reem-tsma, Tulane assistant professor of surgery.
On Friday, speakers will be Dr Seabury; Dr. Chapman; Dr. Horace E. *Grow, assistant su-i
perintendent, Battey State hospital at Rome, Ga.; Dr. Murice S. Tarshis, director of tubercular research of the Alexandria, La., Va. hospital, and Dr, Ernest H, Run-yon, research bacteriologist of the Salt Lake City, Utah VA hospital. Moderator will be Dr,_Richard L. Fowler, LSU professor of pediatrics, and presiding will be Dr. Morton M. Ziskind, seminar chairman.
