Gov. Earl K. Long left his Pine Manor motel retreat at 5:55 p. m. Thursday, saying that he would be in Baton Rouge Friday at 8:30 p. m. AsEed where he was going, he first remarked jokingly wilh a smile, "I'm going to New York."
Jhen in serious vein, he added: "That's my business." He declined any further ques-tioilp on where he will be during fthe intervening time.
£§fig departed in an automobile; driven by state Rep. Jesse McCain of St. Tammany parish. Besides the governor, the only passenger in the car was Dr. PauJ Pratt, the Tulane university psychiatrist who has been assigned with Long during thei pas| week.
L|ng has already announced that he will begin his campaign for another term as governor witt} a stumping tour on Saturday.
