Louisiana is now playing an outstanding role in the national battle against heart disease, this country's number one health problem.
This was the statement made by Dr. Homer J. Dupuy, president of the Louisiana Heart Association, at the election meeting of the New Orleans Heart Council at the International House.
He said that New Orleans now has as good a group working in heart surgery as any city in the South. He added that the heart association is working to maintain Louisiana as a leading research and treatment area.
