Two physicians from the Louisiana State university medical school and two women now doing graduate work at Tulane university today received fellowships totaling $15,675 from the Louisiana Heart Association.
The four were selected as Lib-by Research Fellows for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
Named for the late J. Walter Libby of New Orleans, who bequeathed a large amount of money to the association last year, the fellowships represent part of the $148,208 the association will spend on research and training
during the 1959-60 fiscal year. Awards went to:
Dr. Anthony A. Kattine, associate in the department of pathology, LSU school of medicine, $4800.
Dr. Clifton T. Morris Jr., fellow in cardiology in the pediatrics department, LSU school of medicine, $4800.
Miss Letitia Beard, now studying for her Ph. D. degree in the physiology department, Tulane university, $1875.
Mrs. Charis Paoletti Shaw, candidate for a doctoral degree
in the biochemistry department, Tulane university, $4200.
