The usual therapeutic hopelessness for the aged will be rendered unwarranted by a thorough knowledge of their problems, a New Orleans doctor said here Monday night.
Speaking on "Psychiatric Considerations in Care of the Aged," Dr. John Winkler said a thorough knowledge of their problems "will permit, instead, a constructive, optimistic approach that will enable the aged to accept their limitations and use their interests and potentials to combat anxiety, uselessness, and deterioration."
