ellowships for summer stud: at heart disease nursing work shops have been awarded to II nurses from eight cities in Lou isiana, it was announced Tues day by the Louisiana Heart As sociation.
Dr. Homer J. Dupuy, associa tion president, said that - the fellowship winners will attenc cardiovascular disease work shops at either Catholic uni versity in Washington, D. C; a the Colorado university school of nursing, Denver, or the Children's hospital at the Houstor Medical center.
Dr. Dupuy said that the fellowships range from $200 tc $275 and are being awarded foi the third consecutive year, "tc assist the Louisiana nursing profession to keep pace with the latest advances in the care of heart patients."
Fellowships were awarded to nurses from Shreveport, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Monroe, Lafayette, Huston, Jennings and Opelousas.
Sister Henrietta Guyot, R.N., director of the Louisiana State university department of nursing, said that "many of the winners are in supervisory positions, where trfey will be able
