Hopes of effecting a cure in: 95 per cent of new cases of cancer of vulva have been voiced here by Dr. Conrad Collins, chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Tulane university's school of medicine.
Delivering the annual Graffag-nino Lecture at Louisiana State I University school of medicine yesterday, the doctor said plans for a higher percentage of cancer cures are mainly a question of "early diagnosis."
The annual lecture is named after Dr. Peter Graff£gnino, professor-emeritus in the Lsu medi-cal school's department of gynecology and obstetrics which he founded and served as first director.
In urging an early diagnosis of cancer of the vulva, Dr. Collins told doctors the area is easily accessible to examination, biopsy and surgical treatment.
