A St. Louis gynecologist said here Wednesday that when a woman exhibits definite mas-I culine tendencies she is suffering from a tumor either of the adrenal glands or of the ovaries.
"Remove the tumor and the woman becomes feminine again," added Dr. William Al-lj len, professor and chairman of; the department of obstetrics! and gynecology at Washington! university.
Dr. Allen said although ma-; jor surgery is involved, it's not a particularly serious operation; and recovery is the rule.
"In masculinized women, removal of the tumor produces a j prompt return to the normal, [feminine state," added the visit-jing physician, who delivered the j fourth annual Graff agnino lee-' jture, Wednesday, at the .Louisiana State university medical; school.PHOTO: DR.
