NOT A SINGLE 'CORPSE' AT 'CADAVER BALL'
Things were pretty lively at LSU Medical School's "cadaver ball" by the time we arrived there Saturday night. Not a corpse or cadaver in sight. Freshmen in the medical school give this ball each year to celebrate completion of their first bout with the study of Anatomy and their first carving of a cadaver—in the interests of medical science.
But there is never anything cadaverous at the cadaver ball. Some 400 to 600 students, dates, faculty members, doctors, wives, nurses, technicians and assorted medical fauna crammed into the new Century ballroom of the Monteleone hotel (right over the Swan Room).
