Dr. H. H. Hardy, Alexandria, was elected president of the Surgical Association of Louisiana, succeeding Dr. Kelly Stone, at the group's ninth annual meeting Sunday at the St. Charles hotel.
Other speakers in the one-day session included Dr. Clarence E. Gardner Jr., professor of surgery, Duke university medical school; Dr. Richard L. Buck, head of proctology, independent service, Charity hospital; Dr. Walter F. Becker, assistant professor of surgery at Louisiana State university medical school; Dr. William R. Schaffarzick, Baton Rouge; and Dr. Oscar Bethea, of New Orleans.
The day's agenda included morning and afternoon lecture sessions, a luncheon and a banquet.
