Approximately 500 delegates from the field OF public health, voluntary agencies and extension groups will attend the annual Louisiana Public Health Association convention Thursday in Lake Charles.
Gov.-Elect Earl K. Long will deliver the convention's main address, according to Lloyd H. Methe, president. Delegates will be welcomed by Lake Charles Ma^or Sidney Gray.
Section meetings for clerical and statistical workers, health education personnel, health officers, laboratory workers, nurses and sanitarians will be held in the afternoon session, followed by a banquet and dance.
The two-day meeting will adjourn Friday at noon, following a second general session at which Dr. Andrew Hedmeg will speak on public health in the Dominican Republic, and a group discussion will be conducted on "The Future of Public Health in Louisiana."
