A meeting of the Southern region of the American College of Gastro-enterology will be held April 8 at the Louisiana State university school of medicine.
The meeting will be divided into a scientific session which will get under way at 2 p. m. and a night program which will feature the first Abraham L. Levin memorial lecture.
Delivering the lecture. at 8 p. m. will be Dr. Asher Winkel-stein, assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia university's college of physicians and surgeons and consulting gastroenterologist at Mt. Sinai hospital in New York city. ... The late Dr. Abraham L. Levin was the founder of the New Orleans group, originally affiliated with the National Gastroenterolog-ical Association, which is now the American College of Gastroenter-ology, and it is in his memory that
the annual lectures will be sponsored.
Dr. James T. Nix, president of the American College of Gastro-enterology, will preside at the meeting. Program chairman is Dr. Louis Ochs Jr., chairman of the board of governors and governor of the ACG for Louisiana.
The meeting is open to members of the medical profession, the ACG announced.
