Although 50 per cent of all persons have congenital cataracts, most congenital cataracts do not cause enough trouble to justify surgery.
This is what Dr. Frederic C. Cordes, San Francisco, CaL, told the eye specialists of the nation, who gathered more than 300 strong at the Roosevelt hotel Tuesday for the sixth annual session of the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology. . . ,, .^ : •
"In most cases the cataracts are so small and so located they do not cause loss of vision," added Dr. Cordes, who is head of the department of ophthalmology at the University of California.
