The new 10-story addition to the Hutchinson Memorial building of the school of medicine of Tulane university was dedicated Thursday.
Formal rites were held in the rear of the $2,498,000 addition at 1430 Tulane ave. as Dr. Maxwell E. Lapham, dean of the medical school, presided.
Present were Dr. Andrew J. Warren of Chester Springs, Pa., retired director, division of medi-cine and public health, the Rockefeller Foundation; Dr. Cassius J. Van Slyke of Bethesda, Md., associate director, National Institutes of Health; Dr. William W. Frye, dean of the Louisiana State university medical school; Joseph M. Jones, president of the board of administrators, Tulane Education Fund; Dr. Rufus C. Harris, president of Tulane university; Dr. Fred Cole, academic vice-president, Tulane; Dr. Garland F. Taylor, director of libraries, Tulane, and the Rev. Sherwood Clayton, rector, Grace Episcopal church, who delivered the invocation.
