Hydronephrosis.
' It's a mouthful of medical! term, but it means something | important. '
TWO DOCTORS attending thej( convention 'of Southeastern Sec-p tion of the American Urological Assn. at The Jung scratched their! heads and pondered how to tellji the public what hydronephro«j< jsis is. '
Dr. Joseph McMartin, president of the association, and Dr. Ruben Flocks, professor of urology at the University of Iowa participated in a round table on hydronephrosis this morning.
"It's evidence of poor emptying | of the kidney pelvis," Dr. Flocks j isaici.
"It means the kidney gets
blocked and swells, obstructing the tube leading to the urinary bladder," Dr, McMartin' said, helping out.
"It's a fairly common condition occurring in children and adults, male and female," Dr Flocks said.
