This is the golden year for the Louisiana State Nurses' Association (their 50th anniversary).
And New Orleans will be the City to welcome them with open arms at their golden anniversary convention (Dec. 13-16), and to wish them many happy returns of their birthday and to the city.
The convention theme, "LSNA's Golden Year — Nurses Challenge for the Future," looks forward rather than backward, Miss Etta Hincker, public relations director, points out.
That theme will be developed by one of the US's leading nurses, Mrs. Lucile Petry Leone, Washington, D. C, deputy surgeon general of the US Public Health Service, who holds the highest rank of any woman in that service (she's an admiral). And she has married a research physician since her last visit to New Orleans in 1952. She was organizer and director of the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II.
