Two medical research grants totalling more than $40,000 have been awarded to the Louisiana State University School of Medicine,
These are among grants totalling $72,106 which were approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors at its regular meeting April 3....The Schlieder Found aition grant will be supervised by Dr. Howard J. Tatum of the department of obstetrics and gyneeo-logy. Dean William W. Frye said toxemias of pregnancy are the greatest hazard that an expectant mother in Louisiana faces today....The grant for the electron microscope studies will be directed by Dr. Frank N, Low of the department of anatomy. His work, which concerns the study of lung ./anatomy, has already revealed 'the existence of a complete cov-lering of the tiny blood vessels in the lung.
