A 67 year old doctor who wrote a best-selling book about "moms who pet their children to ruin" today urged voters to consider whether their election choices are really grown up.
He is Dr. Edward A. Strecker of the University of Pennsylvania, a psychiatrist, who lectured to Louisiana State University doctors yesterday at Charity Hospital auditorium.
"I don't think voters do enough when they look only at a candidate's intellect and physical strength," he said. "They should consider his emotional maturity."
"In my years of practice I have seen many, many strong, intelligent men crack under strain. They crack in public office, or in the service, or in meeting the problems of marriage."
