Dr. Waldemar Rice Metz, 62, 2233 St. Charles, prominent New Orleans surgeon, died at 2:10 a. m. today at Touro infirmary following a brief illness.
Dr. Metz, a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, received his bachelor of science degree from Tulane university in 1910 and his doctor of medicine degree from the Tulane university school of medicine in 1913.
Following an internship in pathology at Touro infirmary, he served as house surgeon at the Mount Sinai hospital, New York City, from 1914-17.
Later he did postgraduate study in plastic surgery in New York, fit. Louis, London and Brussels
