The board of supervisors of Louisiana State university Saturday set Feb. 27 as the date for opening bids for completion of a 20,-000-seat south end addition to the LSU football stadium.
The action was taken at the board's bimonthly meeting at the LSU medical school building in New Orleans, with J. Stewart Slack, Shreveport, board chairman, presiding at the three-hour session.
A special meeting of the board Will be called soon after the bids have been opened, and the board, at that meeting, will accept or re-ject or take further action on the bids.
The board set $3,500,000 as the final figure to be allocated for work on a major addition now in progress to the LSU medical school in New Orleans.
The board approved a resolution authorizing LSU to participate in co-operative cancer registry and follow-up program for a period of five years, beginning this past Jan.
1, by which students of the LSU school of medicine will be enabled to follow the progress and history of cancer cases treated and supervised at Charity hospital.
Participating agencies and their annual amount of support for the program include LSU, $2500; Louisiana Division of the American I Cancer Society, $8000; state board |of health, $5000; with all supplies, office equipment, etc., to be supplied by Charity hospital.
